FIRST POST OF THE SUMMER
Hey people. Here's my first post of the summer. And so far its going pretty good. Before I left school I decided that I would see how much money I could make in a month, and I'd like to report that I'm doing very well. Things on the agenda for the summer: -It needs to be put at the top so here it is.....CANADA I want to go, we need to go, so lets go. On a sidenote, do i need a passport yet? Does anyone know? -Thank you Dan It's been a long time since somebody posted anything on LJ, at least on my friends page, and I'm happy that somebody finally posted something for me to read. And it was even a great post about his trip, which again makes me want to go to...well pretty much anywhere. But! Canada would be great because we can all hang out and go to the bars. AMFs anyone? -Ultimate Frisbee and Partying I need to do these soon or I'm going to implode!! Or camping. Lets plan a big camping trip. I'll take you guys out to our spot in zigzag. It's remote and more importantly free. We can fill up our coolers with ice and drinks and go. I guess what I'm trying to say is.....we need to do some stuff. I've been sitting around playing a lot of poker lately and not doing too much. I'm making a lot of money which is nice, but I still want to go have a bunch of fun before I have to study again. Lets get on it! Oh ya things in life are good. Amanda and I have been together for like ten years and it's going really well. Current Events
This friday there will be some small shenanigans at my place. Steve will be drinking at least 1/2 of a fifth of stoli vodka, so him going to bed will not be a problem. I'm down for starting about 7pm. Let me know how you all feel about the time. On other matters, I bought a laptop. And I need to get a mouse. If anyone has an old mouse they want to sell me, or knows where I can get a really cheap one, then please let me know. The Shots System
Some people that come shenanigan with us prefer to take shots instead of mixed drinks and that's fine. But those who take shots cannot partake in the drinking game activities as readily as somebody who has a nice tall christmas in front of them. Just in case you are wondering, I'm refering to myself in that last sentence. Anyways, in order to accomidate the shooters, I propse the shots system for games. Step one Take two shots. Step two: Make a drink without alcohol in it, whatever you want to sip on and play games. Step three: When the non-alcoholic drink is gone, you have to start over at step one. I think of this system as drinking a mixed drink seperately. Normally I would be at the table with a rum and coke or a christmas. Steve is going out of town this weekend.....
We are having a 21 and over party at my house on Friday night, so I regret to inform everyone that no shenaniganswill be happening for you on Friday night as you are all sub 21ners. However, this post is to tell everyone that Steve is gone for the weekend, which means he will not be here Saturday night. Thus, we will be having "Drink a lot" night at my place starting at 8pm on Saturday Night. The theme for the night is to "Drink a lot," and that means everyone needs to get as drunk as they can, without hurling their dinner on any surface of my house (that includes the toilet). If anyone is wondering whether or not they should drink more, I will be the official judge of drunkenness for the night. Hopefully we can stay up really late playing games and whatnot. What college is really about........
It's sunday night, well technically monday morning at 4:45am, and......I have a test at 8am. What's my plan....yeah that's right I'm staying up all night. I finished studying a couple hours ago, but i made the decision around 2am to drink a Sobe no fear. I may be able to hold my alcohol these days, but I'm a caffeine lightweight. Sleeping dropped out of my agenda for the night around 2:15am. So I've decided that studying for tests and pulling all nighters is 1/3 of college. Working really hard. The other 2/3 is composed of equal parts "living in a city where everyone is around our age and loves to hang out" and "ROH." Those of you that aren't taking O chem this term, ROH is an alcohol group. This last friday night we did the usual at my house (i.e. get drunk at Joe's). I really enjoy having a few drinks with everyone, socializing, laughing and generally having a good time. The nights are fun especially when its just a small group of us, no more than a dozen. The idea is simple, have as much fun as possible, try to drink enough to be really buzzed, but less than will give me a hangover in the morning. Hangovers are the worst. But i'm really good at avoiding them. Dan on the otherhand drank enough to have a splitting headache at 3pm when he awoke to me calling him, that sucks. And maybe the best part of Friday night was seeing Analisha smashed. She got her hands on some Malibu Passion Fruit Rum; which by my standards is a bit weak in alcohol content at 21%. But holy crap does that stuff taste good. I would drink it straight out of the bottle it was so delicious. It, in my opinion, is the perfect girly alcohol. Analisha ran around doing the stereotypical "I love you (insert name) so much" to everyone, and didn't wake up with a hangover. Oh good times. Since we aren't going to Canadia.....

yesterday with my mom's family. They are all just as nuts as I am, so
we get along great. My dad's family christmas was today and they all
get drunk and say inappropriate things. So that was fun too. My mom got
me a poker table topper that looks cool, so I'm thinking we need to
have a bimonthly poker game at my house. And my grandpa got me this
little poker leprachaun that says all kinds of funny stuff about poker.
I'm going to play with it while I "work" this next week. And since I'm
a big art fan, most of my family just got me portraits of dead
Presidents (mostly of Mr. Jackson and Mr. Franklin).

It's so cold outside. I either want it to get snowing or warm up. But I've heard a lot of people the last week talking about how cold it is, but they dont really do anything about it. Sure, there are a lot of short term remedys, like turning the heat on and putting on a coat. But we need to be thinking about the big picture. You can give a man a fish and feed him for 10mins or you can teach him to fish and then he can overfish lakes and ponds.....something like that right? So if we all really want it to get warmer for good, lets go buy an industrial sized can of spray paint and unleash the contents into the air. The CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons) are the chemical compound primarily responsible for destroying Ozone........which means BAM more global warming and BAM higher temperatures. Immigration 101
Ok lets clear this up. Immigration and that fugitive game that all you homos play are two completely different games. They may be similar but in no way shape or form is immigration ever to be compared to fugitive again. Fugitive is a bunch of kids with flashlights playing tag through the streets/sidewalks. Immigration involves running by any means necessary to point B while trying to avoid people who have the sole mission of smashing you with several eggs. I've been chased by dogs, ate shit off of people's sheds and ran from the police several times playing Immigration. I have almost no homework this week and would love to have some fun. Halloween Party
I'm sure you've all heard but i just wanted to let everyone as formally as is possible over the internet. Costume party for All Hallos Eve is at my house on friday the 28th, I will be getting started around 830 I'd imagine but the party wont be bumping till 10pm. This will be one of the biggest parties that we've ever thrown at our house. We are really trying to avoid getting busted and MIP's and whatnot. We've thrown some huge parties before, and since there will be so many this weekend I dont think we are at too high of risk. But still, stay inside the house. Also, if you leave your alcohol in the kitchen, it will disappear. If you guys all wanna come get drunk with me at 830, we can get messed up and then hide all of our alcohol before the party starts. If you are not wearing a costume, I will expect some kind of payment, whether it be sexual or not, to get into the party. That is all. | | 7:44 pm |
Becoming a model student
At some point or another in everyone's life, we all want to step up our game and take it to the next level. Maybe it happens at new years, when you make your resolutions. Or some dramatic event happens and you vow to never do that again. Or maybe for those of us that actually care about our lives, you are striving towards greatness. Today, on a stroke of pure luck as it turns out, Amanda made the discovery of the year. Using one of the basic principles that we all live our lives by, she discovered how to be a model student without actually being a model student. How? The clever use of away messages. Yeah, put up a message that says studying and then go play games. Or one that says working out and go take a nap. Whatever you are actually doing that is undoubtedly unproductive and just generally lazy, who cares! Put up a messages that makes it at least look like you are the best. The Metric System
Do you know how much sense the metric system makes? A whole shitload more than the American system for measuring/weighing/doing anything. We invented new ways to measure volume, length, and mass. Are we so hell bent on being different from everyone else that we need to make life hard on ourselves? Seriously, who remembers the conversions from one unit to the next, at least the metric system is base 10. Maybe our ancestors just wanted to mess around with everyone that came here from a different country. It's probably all one big sick joke. If it is just a joke though, why didn't they go for the gold. Mess with the scientific unit we use the most.......time. Think about it, what could be more confusing than making the "american hour." Even better, we'll call it one waka. It will be exactly 3.1415 hours. That way when people from another country come here, not only do they have to figure out how many hours they have lost/gained, but also what time it is in America. That'd really get them good, where were you on that one founding fathers? |
